Eureka, the most beautiful day ever, clear, sunny, bright, and comfortably cool.
A perfect day for an eight-hour tour of the Kenai Fjords National Park. It was the 3rd to last day of these tours.
The young captain, Joshua and his assistant Donetta d aid wonderful guiding us through Resurrection Bay to Holgate Glacier.
They truly love what they do and all on board benefited.

I saw puffins, otters, eagles, Sea Lions and what you never hear about "sea lion flies"
Yeah, the dark side of the sea world, "sea lion flies" ask and I will tell you...

There was a break of at the Holgate Glacier, what a scary sound. I was only able to get the last few seconds on a clip.
The scenery was breath-taking, the colors of the sea, the mountains, all, indescribable.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Today's picture was taken yesterday, somewhere over Washington State, heading towards Seattle.
It gives me a "Lord of the Rings" feeling.

I arrived in Anchorage, OTE, no problems, great seats and good eats (my own of course).
The really great news, I missed the airline computer shut down.
The Weather:
Until 30 minutes ago the weather has been cold, cloudy and rainy.
Now 7:30 in the evening, the sun decides to come out.
Oh well, I needed a day of rest before the adventure truly begins.
Tomorrow:
Thursday, I will be going south to Seward in the Kenai Peninsula.
That's all that's fit to Blog for today.
Be happy, stay well, TTYS

North to Alaska

This is my first attempt at doing a BLOG.

I thought it would be a good idea. A good idea for me because it's easy (I hope). A good idea for you because you can follow the blow by blow account of my "north by northwest adventure", or not.
As in all great adventures, I will start with a map & background music.
A small plane travels across these great United states as it passes Seattle it turns North.
Landing where the adventure begins, Anchorage, Alaska.
